Great D Day commemoration Saturday 5th June at the Knightswood Veterans Monument in Glasgow. Special D Day Veterans attended along with our Lord Provost Philip Bratt and other dignatories.
Thanks to ALL the Veterans who showed up and what a lovely sight of their Standards on parade. Wreaths in place now as a mark of respect, Lest We Forget.
All members invited to a D Day commemoration that the Committee wish the Branch to host at the Veterans Monument in Knightswood commencing 10.40am, usual dress and please note there is no church service or parade due to this pandemic. Finger Buffet in Lincoln pub. Branch will cover any costs as in previous years. Look forward to catching up and please remember face coverings and 2 metre rule.
Members of the Branch were contacted by The P.R.A. Scottish Chairman Alasdair Hutton who asked if we could provide a Guard of Honour for our Airborne Brother Hamish Graham, Ex 3 Para at North Connell, near Oban. A 4 hour drive there and back to support his family and friends in time of need.
A Big thanks to Frank Cameron, Sammy Moynihan, Denis Mc Cormick and Davie Panayotou for their slick drills at the graveside, did the Branch proud.

Thanks to all who attended the funeral of Wullie and May Graham. Here are some words on the day:
Much appreciate if Family and Friends especially VETERANS would consider making a donation to this very worthy cause. I used to coach Jon along with my our oldest Son Terry when they were 15 year olds and played for Church Crookham Rovers, near FLEET.
Jon's father Tom was my R.S.M. in 2 PARA and hails from Paisley. Top notch family. Thanks for any help, and Stay Safe.
Guard of Honour etc will take place at the funeral of former Paratrooper Wullie Graham, Ex 3 Para, tomorrow, Monday 22nd February. Wullie died about 2 weeks ago and his wife died 3 days after him - so sad. He was a PALESTINE Veteran. His Son, Billy Jnr served with 2 Para in the early 70's and jumped with 2 PARA at the Keil Canal.
If you can manage along wear usual dress. Clackmannan Cemetery, Devonway, Clackmannanshire FK10 4LD.
The funeral cortege will leave his home at 12 noon so suggest you get there for 11:30am latest. Pas onto like-minded people if you dont mind.

Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch P.R.A.members sought to form a Guard of Honour for James O' Hear Snr this Friday 5th Feb at Holytown Crematorium, Memorial Way, Holytown ML1 5RU.
Service commences at 11:30am so suggest you arrive 11am latest.

All note due to the ongoing problems with COVID the Branch Committee, are following the guidelines in place with Wood Street Social Club Committee, who plan to look as to when the Club may open have decided they will review the situation in June of this year.
Members please note there is no Armistice parades in Glasgow including Knightswood on Sunday 8th and Glasgow Central Stn on 11/11 due to the governments New guidelines

All please note the funeral service for our dear departed chairman and Airborne brother Mr. Peter Morrison will take place on Wednesday 28th October 2020, commencing at 11am at Daldowie Crematorium. All invited to attend approximatly 10.30 am and Dress as parade format. Adhere to social distancing rules and please wear a face mask as we line the route from the main entrance for the funeral cortege to pass us by. Entrance to the crematorium is for family members only, and / or invited guests. Please let others know that may be interested.
The Branch Chairman, Mr Peter Morrison passed away today. Any news to pass on will post as and when we get it.
Lest We Forget
All branch members are invited to an alternative armistice parade at our Veterans Monument in Knightswood on Sunday 8th November 2020 at 1035 hrs.
Usual dress and have a face mask as we may be able to have a buffet at the Lincoln Inn should the rules change.
On Saturday 15th August 2020, VJ Day COL Bob, Uncle Frank and Terry tabbed 20 miles along the Forth and Clyde canal to the Vets Monument, taking 5 hours to raise funds to help lay the foundation for the Lest We Forget bench kindly donated by Mr Bill Mc Donald (left in picture) Normally cost £700, he gave free of charge and put it in place.
