ABF Scotland: List of Timings

Paratroopers,

As today 30 June 2024 is the last Tayside PRA meeting prior to ABF Scotland 19 / 20 July 2024, I have put together a list of the timings and events for ABF Scotland,

That will be handed out to those present on the day of the meeting, and emailed to those not present.

As you all are aware ABF Scotland has cost thousands of GBP£, and been months in the planning and preparation by members of the ABF Scotland Committee.

The execution of ABF Scotland will involve major league players such as,

Lt General Harrison a serving Regular Parachute Regiment Officer at RHQ Para.

Major General (Retired) Freer Regular Parachute Regiment Officer

Lord Provost of Dundee, Bill Campbell and his wife and Local Councillors

Major (Retired) Paul Raison Secretary/Veterans Officer The Parachute Regimental Association RHQ Para

Major Frank Gargan OC A Company 4 Para ( Retired Regular Para Lt Col ) with the authority of the Commanding Officer 4 Para.

4 Para Colours and Escort to the Colours, plus elements of 4 Para marching and manning/running static displays.

All Four of Scotland's PRA Standards on parade. Tayside, Lothian, West Coast Glasgow, Aberdeen, with branch members marching.

But more important than all of the above is You/Us the Tayside PRA Branch Members / Families and Friends , we must all get behind the ABF Scotland Committee and give our full support to this Major Event for Tayside PRA. We must have the maximum members on the parade on Saturday morning to lead the way as it is Our event. We are going to ask you all, to speak to Eddie or myself as to how you can help make ABF Scotland the Massive Success it deserves to be.

I, thank you all on behalf of the ABF Scotland Committee, for your help and support.

Lincoln Inn Defib pads

We recently contributed to funding the purchase of a new battery for the Lincoln Inn in Knightswood. Here’s what they said:

Wow just Wow ❤️

After a whip round last week to raise £75 for our Defib pads (they were running out of date) we noticed our Defib battery was nearly done!

These batteries last 4-5 years and we are hitting the 4 year mark since we got the Defibrillator. A new battery cost £250

Thanks so much to everyone who chipped into our bucket over the weekend.

Huge thanks to oor Terry and The Parachute Regimental Association Glasgow & West of Scotland Branch who donated £100 towards the battery ❤️❤️ great job as always Terry 🥰

With this final donation we can now order our new battery 🥳🥰

Big hugs to Maria she’s forever helping to make the Lincoln a better place 😊

Thanks everyone ❤️

Subsidised D-Day Trip

Members, the Trustees, having sought advice from OSCR, we are pleased to announce that we can use Branch finance to subsidise at this stage, 10 members who would like to attend the 80th Day Day Tour 5 -8 June 2024 but were maybe put off with the initial cost £449 (£519 if only 30 travelling)

On that note if you would like subsidised you need to come along to Glasgow Central Stn this Saturday, 24th Feb at 12.15pm, meeting under the clock. You will have to complete a form and you will have to pay your deposit of £60 then.

If more than 10 show up and wish help afraid it will have to be names drawn, as there is only 10 spaces.
