BRANCH MEMBERS WHO GAVE THEIR NAMES AT THE BRANCH MEETING IN FEBRUARY 2019 ARE GOING TO ATTEND THIS EVENT ( (19 SO FAR). THE PLAN IS TO STAY IN THE PREMIER INN - TAMWORTH CENTRAL AND THE COST IS £68:50 PER TWIN ROOM PER NIGHT. SO IF YOU DOUBLE UP WITH SOMEONE EACH OF YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY £34:25 PER NIGHT x 2 nights (Total £137) THIS SUNDAY. BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE INCLUDING FREE TRAVEL THERE AND BACK.

IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE LIST AND WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THERE IS A NEED FOR YOU TO ATTEND THE NEXT BRANCH MEETING ON SUNDAY 3RD MARCH 2019 - COMMENCING AT 2 PM. AS YOUR ROOM FEE HAS TO BE PAID TO THE BRANCH SECRETARY SO THAT HE CAN MAKE A GROUP BOOKING BEFORE THE PRICES GO UP OR THEY RUN OUR OF OUR CHOSEN ROOMS

MEANS OF TRAVEL WILL BE HIRED MINI BUSES (VOL DRIVERS REQUIRED WITH LICENCE TO DRIVE 17 SEATER)

Form up Holland Street / Pitt Street at 10:30 am marching off at 11 am. Hope Branch can support trhis event with more on parade as in past years it has been some what disappointing.

Its YOUR Branch remember and OUR Regiment we are proud to be part off - please make this the best attended as we are SIMPLY THE BEST!!

CLAY SHOOT - FUNDRAISER FOR GLASGOW CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL CHARITY

MEMBERS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS WELCOME.

Location: THE NATIONAL SHOOTING CLUB - Wester Jawcraig - Slamannan FK1 3AL

Cost: £35 per head. - Non shooters £15. This event is to raise funds for The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Afterwards back to CLUB for Curry meal etc and RAFFLE, including MUSIC.

BUS TIMINGS ETC:

08:00 am - Lincoln Inn, Knightswood

08:20 am - Buchanan Street Bus Station, Taxi Rank side

08:30 am - Alexandra Park

Shoot commences at 09:30 am ( On arrival ALL will be served a Tea / Coffee and Bacon Roll free of charge) Aim to return to Glasgow 1 pm and in Club for 2 pm. Coach will depart from Club at 5 pm droping folk off at the Pick Up points.

NOTE: Names and numbers will have to be calculated in total by the next Branch Meeting in July so that we can inform the Centre and more importantly book the right COACH for our numbers. Cut off date for any others that may wish then to attend that haven’t applied has to be the meeting on 4th August.

VICTORY IN EUROPE PARADE AND CHURCH SERVICE

All VETS and Branch Standards invited once again to our annual event here in Knightswood - Glasgow.

Church service in Knightswood St Margaret’s Church at Knightswood Cross commences at 10:30 am and the Church hall will be open from 10 am

Service at the Vets Monument will commence approximately 11:40 am and the March past 12 noon. We hope as many VETS Branches etc as possible lay their unit wreath

Finger Buffet and a raffle in aid of SSAFA - The Armed Forces Charity ( Glasgow Branch) will take place in the Lincoln Lounge from 1 pm onward’s

IF ANYONE CAN MAKE A RAFFLE DONATION ON THE DAY IT WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Members are invited to attend Mr. Neil Mac Farlane’s service at Daldowie Crematorium - East Chapel at 10am. on the above date.

No Standards required and you may take the option to dress as you see fit. Our Chairman hopes though that members of the Branch wear Blazer, Beret etc.

May he rest in peace.

Dennistoun WW1 Memorial unveiling - Saturday 29th September 2018 Alexandra Park

Branch members and Veterans from all over have been invited to participate so please note if you can support this event then please form up for the parade at the Old Wills Fag Factory Building - now called CITY PARK on Alexandra Parade across from a Petrol Station.

If unsure of where to go to you can meet at our club from 09:30 am onward’s for a cup of Tea? and follow follow??

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - LAYING UP AND RENEWAL OF LEGION STANDARDS

Branch Members invited along to this event including our Standard which will be on parade.  Meet Glasgow Cathedral 09.15am to form up for a parade and inspection by Lt Gen Sir Alasdair Irwin at 09.30am

 

This part will cease at 10.30am to be followed by a Church Service in the Cathedral at 11am.
